大学入学共通テスト　Common Test for University Entrance

Tomorrow is the crucial “University Entrance Common Test” for university applicants.

For applicants to national and public universities, taking this Common Test is generally mandatory, serving as the first-stage exam. Admission decisions are based on the combined scores from the Common Test and each university’s individual entrance exams.

The Common Test is utilized not only by national and public universities but also by about 90% of private universities as part of their “Common Test Utilization Admissions,” making it a vital exam for applicants.

This test is held over two days: Saturday, January 17th, and Sunday, January 18th.

In Tokyo today, JR trains were halted for hours due to a disruption.

Fortunately, service has been restored and is running normally now. But thinking about what would happen if such a disruption occurred on exam day—especially since my son once took this Common Test himself—gives me goosebumps, it’s terrifying.

 The examinees have endured and persevered through their studies to prepare for these university entrance exams. I sincerely hope tomorrow passes without any disruptions so they can take the test.

Even though it’s January, tomorrow is supposed to be warm.

I pray they can fully demonstrate the abilities they’ve built up until now.

明日は　大学受験生にとって　とても大切な「大学入学共通テスト」です。

国公立大学を受験する場合、基本的に　この共通テストの受験が必須であり、一次試験として利用されます。共通テストの成績と大学ごとの個別試験の合計で合否が決まります。

共通テストは、国公立大学だけでなく、90%ぐらいの多くの私立大学でも「共通テスト利用入試」として活用されており、受験生にとって重要な試験です。

このテストは、1月17日土曜日と18日日曜日の二日にわたって行われます。

東京は、今日JR電車が何時間も止まるトラブルがありました。

幸い復旧し通常通りの運行に戻りましたが　もしも　このようなトラブルが試験日に起こったらと思うと、私の息子もかつて　共通テストを受けただけに　鳥肌が立つほど恐ろしいことです。

受験生は、大学試験に向けて　我慢に我慢を重ねて勉強をつづけてきたのですから明日は　何のトラブルもなく試験に挑めることを望みます。

１月とはいえ　明日も暖かいようです。

今までの実力をしっかり発揮できることをお祈りしています。
