Doll Festival (March 3)
The Doll’s Festival is the Peach Festival (change of seasons) on March 3rd, and it is a day to celebrate girls.
We pray for the healthy growth and happiness of girls and celebrate them.
Hina dolls are said to protect children from diseases and accidents instead of children.
Therefore, they decorate the girls with congratulations and wishes so that they can be healthy and happy.In the old days, they used to make Hina dolls out of paper and let them flow them down the river so that they could take bad things such as diseases and injuries.
As Hina dolls are gradually becoming more and more beautiful, they are often decorated now, but there are also places where people celebrate by wearing “Nagashi Hina” like in the past.
The ones at the top are Odairi-sama and Ohime-sama. Hina dolls represent the wedding of the two.
How to spend March 3rd
They eat food to celebrate the Doll Festival and decorate dolls and peach blossoms. Children especially love to eat hina arare.
Hinaare comes in pink, white, and green colors, each of which has its own meaning. (There are various theories.)

It is said that eating these three colors of hina arare gives you natural energy and grows healthy and strong.
There is also a theory that there are four colors of hail that represent the four seasons.

ひな祭り（3月3日）
ひな祭りとは、3月3日の桃の節句（季節の変わり目）のことで、女の子のお祝いをする日です。
女の子の健やかな成長や幸せを祈って、お祝いをします。
雛人形は、子どもたちの変わりに病気や事故から守ってくれるとされています。
そのため、女の子が元気で幸せになるようにお祝いやの気持ちや願いを込めて飾ります。昔は、紙で雛人形を作って、病気やけがなどのよくないものを持っていってもらうように川に流す「流し雛」をしていたそう。
だんだんと雛人形が素敵なものになってきたので、今は飾ることが多いけれど、昔のように「流し雛」をしてお祝いをするところもあります。
一番上にいるのが お内裏様とお雛様です。ひな人形は この二人の結婚式の様子をあらわしています。
3月3日の過ごし方
ひな祭りのお祝いの料理を食べたり ひな人形や桃の花を飾ったりします。特にひなあられは、子供は大好きです。
ひなあられには、ピンク、白、緑の色があって、この色にはそれぞれ意味があります。（諸説あり） ・ピンク…生命
・白…雪の大地
・緑…木々の芽吹き
この3色のひなあられを食べることで、自然のエネルギーを得て元気で丈夫に育つとされているそうです。
4色のひなあられもあって、四季を表しているという説も。
いろんな色を楽しみながら食べてみよう。甘くておいしいですよ。
