November 3rd is Culture Day. It is an important Japanese national holiday designated as a day to cherish freedom and peace and to promote culture.This day also celebrates the importance of “culture” found in study, art, music, tradition, and people’s daily lives.
For example, museums and art galleries offer free admission, and schools hold cultural festivals. This is why university cultural festivals often take place on this day.
How did you all spend Culture Day? While Japan’s climate lately has seen autumn slow to arrive and sudden cold snaps become common, November 3rd still offers pleasant weather where you can feel autumn, doesn’t it? Autumn for art, autumn for music, autumn for sports. Schools likely held events like cultural festivals and art appreciation gatherings. I enjoyed watching sports. It turned out to be a day spent enjoying sports in comfortable weather—not too hot, not too cold.
11月3日は「文化の日」。「自由と平和を愛し、文化をすすめる日」として決められた、日本の大切な祝日です。
この日は、勉強や芸術、音楽、伝統、そして人々のくらしの中にある「文化」を大切にする日でもあります。
たとえば、美術館や博物館が無料になったり、学校で文化祭が開かれたりします。大学の文化祭がこの日に多いのは、そのためです。
皆さんはどんな文化の日を過ごしましたか。最近では 秋がなかなか来ず急に寒くなることが多い気候となってしまった日本ですが、まだ11月３日は秋を感じることができる陽気なのではないでしょうか。芸術の秋 音楽の秋 スポーツの秋。学校では文化祭や 芸術鑑賞会などのイベントが行われたのではないでしょうか。私はスポーツ観戦を楽しみました。暑すぎず寒すぎず 心地の良い気候のなかスポーツ観戦を楽しむ一日になりました。
